Another blitzing attack in the first quarter was all the San Sebastian Stags needed to overthrow the Holy Trinity College Wildcats, 93-75, in the second game of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Elite Eight Day Three held Saturday afternoon at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Stags looked sharp right from the opening tip, ending the opening frame outscoring the Wildcats 31-15.
Baste’s onslaught was spearheaded by Allyn Bulanadi, who was scorching hot from downtown with an impressive 7-for-13 shooting clip from three point distance. SSC-R’s gunner had 31 big points to go along with 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Bulanadi was just as effective on the defensive side with 2 steals and 3 blocked shots.
As a team, San Sebastian was 14-for-33 (40%) from beyond the arc.
The Stags never trailed in the ball game.
Aiding Bulanadi in scoring were Alvin John Capobres and Ian Carlo Valdez who had 14 and 10 respectively.
Everby Dialago was the top point man for HTC with 21, followed by Joseph Diamante’s 19.
San Sebastian is currently in second place of Group B with a 2-1 record. Holy Trinity College, on the other hand, sits on third place at 1-2.
