The Holy Child College of Davao (HCCD) Red Eagles became champions of the 2018 Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) 3×3 under-18 National Collegiate Championship after sweeping the La Finn’s Scholastica Bravehearts in their best-of-three finals on Thursday, January 24 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Unlike from last year, when the Big3 rules were used, standard FIBA 3×3 rules were implemented for this year’s tournament.

The Red Eagles, together with the La Finn’s Scholastica Bravehearts (North Luzon Qualifier) and the University of Nueva Caceres Greyhounds (South Luzon Qualifier) competed in a double-round robin elimination round. The Red Eagles and the Bravehears finished with 5 and 3 wins respectively, both advancing in the best of three championship round.

In the championship round, the Red Eagles bested the Bravehearts in their first game, 18-15, then finishing the series after scoring 21 points in the second game, 21-15.

The awarding ceremonies were held before the start of Game 2 of the UAAP vs NCAA showdown.
